While some of the above recipes can of course be made without the use of a double boiler (also sometimes known as a bain-marie), using a double boiler keeps the heat more even and gentle and can help to prevent burning.

Thanks to the aluminium construction of this double boiler, the heat is retained evenly. The tall sides allow for a larger insert to help to keep the water away from the contents, helping you to melt your chocolate perfectly without the worry that any water from the bottom pan will enter the top and ruin the lovely chocolate you have prepared ready for tempering, as we all know that chocolate ready for tempering can easily be ruined by even the smallest drop of water. Its strong aluminium handles allow for easier transportation around a busy kitchen and to help you keep the pan steady when in use.

This aluminium double boiler pan would be at home in any busy commercial kitchen or bakery as the strong and durable construction allows for the odd knock and bump without the item breaking easily. It has been made to withstand the rigours of everyday life in a busy kitchen.

To keep your double boiler in its best condition for as long as possible, do not wash it using a dishwasher as this will corrode the material. Always wash it by hand and allow it to fully dry before either stacking away in the kitchen cupboard to free up valuable countertop space or for when you’re ready to use it again.

If you’re new to using a double boiler, here are some helpful hints to get you started:

• Always ensure you only fill the bottom pan with 1-2 inches of water
• Never let the water touch the bottom of the inserted pan
• Bring the water to a boil and then to a simmer for better control of the melting/cooking contents
• Always ensure you constantly stir the contents to make sure everything has combined or melted together properly

Returning items purchased online

If you purchase a stock item online that you want to return then you can send it back to us within 28 days of the sale and we will refund the value of the items that we receive back in resaleable condition.

Special orders and orders of appliances may incur restocking charges from the manufacturer. This can be up to 30%.

If there was a picking error and you received incorrect items we will arrange for a replacement.

If you receive any damaged items please email us immediately. We require images of the broken item and the packaging within 48 hours of the goods being signed for to process your claim.
